Inspiration

Just a short post tonight...
Things are smoothing out...
I hope!

A Note On DIVINE PROVIDENCE:
A close former co-worker of mine, I will call "Jill" since I have not asked her permisison to share her story... and her husband, recently had thier second child. Thier first child was a blessing, born after trial and tribulation. And..sadly born with a rare congenital heart defect. The mom, who works in medical education and the dad who is a police officer outside of NYC, have endured surgery after surgery, setback and triumph and of course a pile of doctors bills.

Then, another miracle, a second baby on the way... and this time... premature, born with some problems in her little lungs. Rushed from one hospital to another... "tested, still not sure... yet she holds on, she is ok...she might even going home soon," my friends email says in a joyful tone.

We all have HIGH SPIRITS for my friend's little girl.

What a lesson. We complain the gas prices are high, that our spouse does not spend enough time, that our teenagers found thier way into a little trouble. Yet here are two parents, with one toddler who has endured so much and a new baby, facing perhaps similar years of surgery, testing or who knows... STILL hopeful in the future.

the messages...1) EACH DAY IS A GIFT
2) TRUST IN THE LORD.
"And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for theLORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the workfor the service of the house of the LORD."

There is indeed a redeeming quality in struggle, any struggle, including spiritual struggle...
For more on that topic, visit my good friend Rev. Ethan McCardell's website...it is linked in the header above.
